Welcome to PaleoSed+, a research group at the University of Manitoba.

PaleoSed+ fosters multidisciplinary collaboration between students and researchers of geology, palaeontology, & natural systems. Our principal investigators in the University of Manitoba Department of Earth Sciences seek a greater understanding of the history of life and natural processes on Earth.

Ongoing PaleoSed+ research

The longterm objective of this research program is to integrate data from the fields of paleontology, evolutionary developmental biology (EvoDevo), ecology, and geology to interpret the life history and ecological niche of extinct vertebrates through examination of bone and tooth ultrastructure. Read more...

The Rivers To Rocks (R2R) research lab integrates sedimentology, geomorphology, and stratigraphy to read the sedimentary record of Earth-surface processes to understand the temporal evolution of past environments on Earth. Read more...

Our lab focuses on the physical, chemical, and biological controls on the production and preservation of organic matter and the role of organic productivity in modulating Earth system processes at geological time scales. Read more...
